Nancy Quinn was born in Moncton, NB, at the Head of the Bay of Fundy. She lived in the Maritimes until a teenager and moved to Niagara Falls ON with her parents. Thirty years later she returned to the Maritimes with her husband and two sons. Now living the dream on PEI, Nancy employs her experience and skills as a Business Consultant.
Work + Experience
From Ontario Nancy brings a double college diploma in Sales and Marketing and Tourism. She is proud to have worked for the Ontario government as an envoy to the international horticulture expo, Ameriflora ’92, immediately following graduation.
Following that 8 month escapade in Ohio, Nancy returned and accepted a management position with Whirlpool Jet Boat Tours in Niagara. With an annual budget of $120,000.00 Nancy developed a business that grew by 20% each year, winning numerous business and marketing awards. During her tenure as Director of Marketing, the company opened a location on the New York side of the Niagara River and continued to expand into the international market.
After eight years Nancy moved to a marketing firm called Tri-Media Marketing. There she was responsible for a handful of accounts and was Key Account Manager for Casino Niagara, managing print and film marketing with a budget of $2M. This included all print promotional material and commercials development and execution. As well, Nancy was the lead on the national Manpower print campaign and Telus partnership.
Nancy then moved to a position with a Business Improvement Area as Director of Marketing for Fallsview BIA. This position was cancelled after 9/11 as tourism fell in Niagara by over 90%.
Deciding it was an opportune time to ‘move home’, Nancy accepted employment with Acadia University in Wolfville NS. Living in ‘the valley’ was wonderful, but PEI beckoned and Nancy joined the City of Summerside as Economic Development Officer for eight years.
